Welcome to AI4F ("we", "us", or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect information when you use AI4F, including our website, learning platform, Google Sign-In, and the AI4F ChatGPT App.

1. Information We Collect

Depending on how you use AI4F, we may collect the following categories of information:

• Account information: Your email address, name, profile picture URL, role, and account settings.
• Learning activity: Your vocabulary, kanji, grammar, quiz, JLPT-style practice, scores, attempts, progress, saved items, and related study activity.
• User-provided content: Answers, contact messages, error reports, uploaded recordings, and other information you choose to submit to AI4F.
• ChatGPT App data: When you use the AI4F ChatGPT App, ChatGPT may send AI4F the information needed to fulfill your request, such as vocabulary terms, kanji, grammar queries, JLPT level, section preferences, or other task-specific learning inputs.
• Technical information: Logs and diagnostics such as request time, tool or endpoint name, response status, latency, error details, IP address, and user-agent information.

2. Information We Collect via Google Sign-In

When you choose to register or log in to AI4F using your Google account, we access a limited set of your Google user data. We only request the essential information needed to create and manage your account on our platform.

Specifically, we access the following data from your Google profile:

• Email address: Your primary Google email address, used as your unique identifier in our system.
• Full name: Your first and last name, used to personalize your experience.
• Profile picture: Your public profile picture, displayed within your user profile on our application.

We only access this information after you have given your explicit consent through the Google OAuth consent screen.

3. ChatGPT App Data

The current AI4F ChatGPT App can be used for public Japanese learning lookups and practice without linking an AI4F account. We only receive the specific information ChatGPT sends to AI4F to complete your requested action.

We do not request or store your full ChatGPT conversation history. We do not use ChatGPT App interaction data for advertising, and we do not sell, rent, or trade this data.

If account linking is introduced in the future, we will request only the permissions necessary for the selected feature and update this Privacy Policy accordingly.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use information only for purposes related to operating, securing, and improving AI4F, including:

• Creating, authenticating, and managing user accounts.
• Providing Japanese learning features, including vocabulary, kanji, grammar, listening, speaking, quiz, and JLPT-style practice.
• Tracking learning progress, scores, attempts, and saved study items.
• Personalizing your learning experience.
• Responding to support requests, contact messages, and content error reports.
• Maintaining security, preventing abuse, debugging issues, and improving reliability.
• Complying with legal obligations.

We do not use your Google data or ChatGPT App data for advertising or unrelated marketing.

5. Information We Do Not Intentionally Collect

AI4F does not intentionally collect the following through the ChatGPT App or our learning features:

• Payment card data.
• Government identifiers.
• Protected health information.
• Precise location data.
• Passwords, API keys, MFA codes, or other authentication secrets.

6. Data Sharing and Service Providers

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. We may share limited information with trusted service providers only as necessary to operate AI4F, such as hosting, database, logging, email, support, and security providers.

If you use Google Sign-In, Google processes authentication information according to Google's own policies. If you use the AI4F ChatGPT App, your interaction with ChatGPT is also subject to OpenAI's applicable terms and privacy practices.

We may disclose information if required by law, such as in response to a court order or other legal process. Where appropriate and legally permitted, we will notify affected users.

7. Data Storage, Security, and Retention

We store data on protected servers and use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including HTTPS, access controls, and operational security practices. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We retain account and learning data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide AI4F. If you delete your account, we will delete or de-identify associated personal data unless retention is required for legal, security, abuse-prevention, or operational reasons.

Technical logs are retained for up to 90 days unless a longer period is necessary for security, legal compliance, abuse prevention, or service reliability.

8. Your Controls and Deletion Requests

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data associated with your AI4F account or ChatGPT App usage by contacting us.

To request deletion of your account and associated data, you may:

1. Log in to your AI4F account.
2. Navigate to your user profile or account settings page.
3. Click the "Delete My Account" button, if available.
4. Confirm the deletion.

Alternatively, you can send a data deletion request to ai4f.io.22@gmail.com from the email address associated with your account. We will process deletion requests within 30 days unless a longer period is required by law or necessary for security and abuse-prevention purposes.

You may also revoke AI4F's access to your Google account through your Google account security settings.

9. Children's Privacy

AI4F is intended for general language-learning audiences and is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal data to us, please contact us so we can delete it.

10. International Data Transfers

Your information may be processed and stored in countries other than your country of residence, where data protection laws may differ. We take reasonable measures to protect your information consistent with this Privacy Policy.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date.
